Weatherproof Materials And Design

The RoofBunk Explorer has our high quality 280gsm poly-cotton blend ripstop canvas material on the body of the tent and 600D Oxford polyester on the rainfly, making it completely weatherproof.

It can comfortably handle winds of up to 40mph (Gale Force 8) when opened and the unique blend of polyurethane we apply to it gives it a waterproof rating of 3000mm on the body and 5000mm on the rainfly. This makes it 3-5 times as waterproof as a regular ground tent and able to handle even the worst rain storms with no problem!

The materials have been treated with agents to make it UV and mould resistant, so it should be protected from being faded by the sun.

We’ve also made sure the material used on our tent is breathable to prevent condensation and dampness as much as possible.

Plus, our travel cover is made of 1200D/680g heavy-duty PVC, so it will be very durable and has a high-quality zip to ensure no water seeps in on wet days.

Opens And Closes In Minutes

Our rooftop tent is able to be set up and packed away in a matter of minutes with its fold-out system. You can also keep some of your bedding inside when it’s down too if you fold your duvet before- perfect if you’re on the move frequently when travelling!

Fits Any Vehicle

You should be able to fit a RoofBunk Explorer soft shell on any vehicle’s roof as long as you’re able to keep the roof bars between 70cm and 120cm apart, as this will sufficiently spread the load weight evenly.

We suggest getting roof bars that are rated to hold at least 50kg of weight and are ideally through bars in design if you have a smaller vehicle, as these allow more overhang on the sides.

You’ll also need to check your vehicle’s maximum roof load capacity is over 50kg, which can be found in your vehicle’s user manual or after searching for the information online.

Spacious Design With Canopy

The RoofBunk Explorer soft shell roof tent has a large and tall roof tent design, allowing space for taller people to sit up when needed and a more comfortable sleep.

The interior is about as wide as a standard sized double bed at 140cm (4ft 7), 240cm long (7ft 10) and has a high enough ceiling for the tallest people you know to sit up in at 130cm high (4ft 3).

All this allows you to comfortably sleep 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults on their own. You could probably squeeze a small child in there if you didn’t mind getting cozy though!

On top of this, you get another 70cm x 140cm of space outside with the canopy at the entrance and even more under the overhanging floor. The canopy fully covers the ladder too, so you don’t have to worry about getting wet when getting in and out. You can also add an annex awning for even more space and comfort.

Light, Strong And Compact

The roof tent has a 25mm aluminium frame to keep it both strong and light at 50kg (110lb), making it easier to lift on and off your car.

This also means it costs you less in fuel from having less weight on top of your vehicle and makes it easier to find suitable roof bars to hold the weight if you don’t already have them.

The foldable design makes it take up minimal space on your roof too, so it leaves space for extra gear or accessories, such as an awning.

It can also hold up to 300kg (47.3 stone) of weight inside it, so it’s very well built.

The RoofBunk Explorer has 2 large windows and a viewing door, so you can enjoy the scenery in style on your adventures!

Plus with the 2 skylights, you can watch the stars at night or simply just have more natural light during the day.

Added Design Features

There are also added features to help make our roof tent stand out, such as the seams being sealed with waterproof silicone tape to both keep the heat in and make it leakproof.

The windows are curved to help it handle higher winds and the canopy is too in order to reduce pooling.

The high quality waterproof zips that we’ve used should also prevent leaks and last for years without breaking.

Plus every door, window and skylight on the RoofBunk Explorer has zippable mosquito nets on them to keep any bugs out, while still ensuring good airflow.

Extra Accessories

Your RoofBunk Explorer comes with a high quality aluminium telescopic ladder that can extend up to 230cm (7ft 7 inches) to allow easy access into it.

You get a comfortable 6cm (2.5 inch) mattress that will allow you to have a pleasant and comfortable night’s sleep. The mattress can also be removed for easy washing or you can put your own custom sized mattress in it instead for even more comfort if you wish!

Plus, you get all the fittings and everything you’ll need to install your RoofBunk Explorer and storage pockets inside.

Warranty

With your RoofBunk, you’ll get a 2 year warranty with it free of charge!
