When will the ID Buzz camper be available for rent?
The announcement has been updated in February 2023 – and the car seems to be almost available for rental here. (The page is ready, but it’s not launched yet.)
The SiestaCamper’s in-house team have created their own custom camping conversion of the ID Buzz 1st Edition by building a slide-out camping pod. Being released before the official Volkswagen ID Buzz California in 2025, it should give them a good advantage.
In SiestaCamper’s own words: “The ID Buzz camper will be suitable for camping and overnight trips. The folding seats and levelling mattress will offer enough space for 2 to sleep comfortably. The custom-built slide-out camping pod will provide everything needed to prepare and store food. A variety of extras will be available to make the most of the camping experience.“
The so-called “Siesta Buzz” sleeps 2 people and should include:
- a fridge & cooker, bedding, a fully equipped kitchen kit, a camping kit, insurance and 24h assistance
- 100 km/day
- an interior folding bed (1.15m x 2.00m) and a custom pull-out camping pod
- a gas hob, sink with water on tap, food prep area
- a chemical toilet (by request)
- a solar panel

Where will the camper be available for rent?
At launch, it will be available in Haro, Portugal, handy for camping trips around Algarve. It should be available across Portugal later in 2023.
How much will the ID Buzz rental cost?
It’s expected to cost between 100€ to 250€ per night, depending on the season and rental duration. There will also be optional extras you can add to enhance your camping experience.
