Let’s look at which one of these popular MPVs and vans in the EU has the biggest boot and how they compare to each other. We’ll look at all the MPVs that are made on the same chassis or by the same company – Peugeot Partner – both long and short versions, Citroen Berlingo and Nemo, Opel (Vauxhall) Combo XL, and Renault Kangoo.

Who is the winner?
1. Peugeot Partner Camper (Long – L2)
The Peugeot Partner Camper Long version emerges as the top contender in our comparison. This model boasts the widest boot among its peers, measuring a generous 125 cm, matched with a competitive height of 113 cm and a boot length of 217 cm. While its fuel consumption of 6.8 l/100km is slightly higher than some competitors, it’s a small price to pay for the ample space and convenience it offers. The Partner Long is perfect for those who prioritize storage space and comfort in their camping adventures.
If you want an even bigger boot, you should look at the Caddy Maxi (about the same boot length, but taller) or the new Hyundai Staria (it is just huge!), if your budget allows you. The US-made Grand Voyager is also bigger, and more luxurious – if you don’t mind the much higher consumption.
2. Opel (Vauxhall) Combo Life XL Camper
Snagging the second spot is the Opel (Vauxhall) Combo Life XL Camper. With the longest boot in the group at 223 cm and a decent width of 120 cm, it’s almost as spacious as the Peugeot Partner Long. Its fuel efficiency is impressive at 5.7 l/100km, making it a more economical choice for long trips. The Combo Life XL is a great option for campers who value both space and fuel efficiency.
3. Citroen Berlingo Camper (Long)
The Citroen Berlingo Long version takes third place. It shares a similar boot length with the Peugeot Partner Long (217 cm) but falls a bit short in width, measuring 120 cm. Its fuel consumption is reasonable at 6.3 l/100km. The Berlingo strikes a balance between size and efficiency, making it a solid choice for those looking for a middle ground.
4. Renault Kangoo Camper
The Renault Kangoo Camper has a good boot length of 221 cm and a width of 116 cm. However, it falls behind in fuel efficiency, consuming 8.3 l/100km. It is also a bit more basic and offers less comfort. Not sure why you would buy it over the first three on this list – unless you have a strong Renault preference.
5. Peugeot Partner Camper (Short – L1)
The shorter version of the Peugeot Partner Camper, though compact, still offers a lot for camping enthusiasts. With a boot length of 182 cm and a width of 125 cm, it maintains a good balance between size and maneuverability. The fuel consumption mirrors its longer sibling at 6.8 l/100km.
6. Citroen Nemo Camper
The Citroen Nemo Camper, though the smallest in our comparison, is a nimble choice for solo campers or below-average-height couples. It has the smallest boot (152 cm length – possible to extend to ~175 cm if you push the front seats forward and 104 cm width) but boasts decent fuel efficiency at 5.9 l/100km. The Nemo is ideal for those who prefer a more compact and fuel-efficient vehicle for their camping trips.
